When you first set off to pursue your startup, you probably had high hopes of conquering your market. After the first few years of being in business, it’s likely that these hopes and values changed a little bit. Take it another 10, 20, or 30 or more years of being in operation, your core values may have been completely forgotten. With advancements in technology, increased competition in you market, and personal transformations, many business owners let their original core values slip away.
If you make the conscious effort to revisit the reasons that originally got you started, it’s not very difficult to update your old core values to reflect where you are today. Clarifying your mission then revise the direction of your company to match your ideals.
