Stop spending your days taking notes from your competition. Do this will only rob yourself of the chance to make your own unique mark on your industry. Besides, if you’re watching what your competition has already done, copying them will always leave you one step behind.
Instead, take a completely unconventional approach. Step outside of the box and look at the things you love about businesses that aren’t even in your industry. You can learn something from the way technological companies release new products. Maybe you like the way nonprofits cater to their supporters. Have you ever taken notes on the customer service offered at your favorite restaurant?
You can even look at other industries to learn what not to do. Keep your perspective fresh and, rather than following trends, figure out how to be the business that sets them. This doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money. Click here to subscribe to the Professor Savings YouTube channel to learn the best practices for making your financial decisions count.
