Photographer Kien Lam’s time lapsed video of his travels to 17 countries over 343 days, is brilliant, and all the inspiration you’ll need to travel as far as you can across the globe this year, and every year after. The many historic landmarks, seas and oceans many of us have only seen on maps and in textbooks, and even mass expanses of dessert, and urban sprawls in places ranging from Morocco and Turkey, to Spain, London, and the US, that Lam is able to capture are enough to cause serious cases of wanderlust for any and everyone who gets the chance to see the video, and the stimulating music that plays through the course of the video is actually an original composition from the cinematographers own brother William Lam.
An interesting part of the video is the many American sights that too many of us who live in thi country, but not the respective cities being filmed, are probably able to say, not proudly, that we’ve never been to. Sure Wadi Rum in Jordan, and the legendary Copacabana are fantastically appealing and wrapped in the essence of the exotic, but why not see as much of our vast and varying country as possible? You have to start somewhere right?
