Networking is the bread and butter of seeing success as an entrepreneur. If there are any tech meetups, startup conferences, or panels going on anywhere near you, you need to be in attendance. But they aren’t the limits of entrepreneurial networking.
Try festivals, art shows, and other cultural events to expand your market even more. Burning Man takes place in Black Rock Desert. Every big name you can think of will be there. There, entrepreneurs are encouraged to talk to people on a personal level. Leave the business cards at home and don’t start the cliché conversations, instead, network with people to learn what makes them tick.
These organic meetings allow entrepreneurs to step outside of the cold, business-minded persona and remember to make connections that truly matter. If people like you, they’ll help you- it doesn’t matter what’s on your resume.
Depending where you are in the world, a trip to Nevada may not be in your current budget. But it’s one of those places that could instantly launch your career. Click here to subscribe to the Professor Savings YouTube channel to learn how to fit Burning Man into your budget.
